".....For many years, I have represented Iranian refugees, especially women, who have been tortured and imprisoned in Iran. The suffering of these women is unimaginable. Sadly, honourable senators, this suffering still continues...............Today, I will address the situation of one religions group, the Baha'i of Iran, whose rights have systematically been violated by the Iranian government since the inception of the Islamic revolution. As a young child in Uganda, my father often took me to a construction site where a Baha'i temple was being built. As the temple was being built, my father would describe the different aspects of the faith of the Baha'i. His description of the embracing by the Baha'i of all religions left me with a great love and respect for all faiths. I am also a great admirer of the Baha'i. As Ugandans, we are proud of the Baha'i temple in Uganda and we believe it is one of the best temples.

Honourable senators, let me take a few moments to provide some background of the Baha'i faith. It originated in Iran, then Persia, in the 1840s. Central to the spiritual teachings of the Baha'i faith is the concept that there is only one God and that the major world religions have been established by divine educators who brought teachings commensurate with humanity's stage of development.

The source and spiritual essence of all these religions is the same in the Baha'i view. Only the social teachings have changed in order to support the emergence of an ever-advancing civilization. Baha'is strive both individually and as communities, and with the guidance of their institutions, to understand and implement the spiritual and moral teachings in their own lives and communities, and to contribute to the common good.

The five million or so people comprising the Baha'i international community represent 2,112 ethnic and tribal groups who live in over 121,000 localities, 190 independent countries and 45 dependent territories and overseas departments.

Why then, honourable senators, do we have a slow genocide of the Baha'i community in Iran through such means as arbitrary arrests; incitement of hatred in government-controlled media and from the pulpit; harassment of schoolchildren; denial of access to post-secondary education or to employment in the public sector; severe restrictions on employment in the private sector; the destruction of graveyards; denial of government pensions; and the discrimination in courts?" "......................Fifthly, banning minarets in Switzerland is clearly a flagrant violation of freedom of belief, and Egyptians, Arabs and Muslims have a right to object to the ban and try to overturn the ban by all legal means. But the Egyptian government has no moral right to object to the ban on minarets in Switzerland because it has failed to ensure freedom of belief for Egyptians themselves. The Egyptian authorities regularly arrest Shi’ites and Quranists, put them on trial on charges of contempt for religion and throw them into prison. In fact, the official department headed by the Mufti, which is now calling for freedom of belief in Switzerland, has issued an official fatwa declaring Baha’is to be infidels, a declaration which puts them in danger of being murdered at any moment. These Baha’is are Egyptian citizens who have fought a bitter battle for recognition of their religion in official documents."

On November 28, members of the Baha'i Faith throughout the world commemorate the passing of 'Abdu'l-Baha, the eldest son and successor of Baha'u'llah, 83 years ago.

'Abdu'l-Baha died in His house in Haifa in 1921, aged 77. More than 10,000 mourners, representing every one of the diverse religions and ethnic communities in the Holy Land, attended His funeral.

He was laid to rest in a vault adjoining that in which He had laid the remains of the Bab on Mount Carmel in 1909.

إلى الذين يشكون من قسوة عملية التطهير التي تتولاها "الخطة إلهية الكبرى"، يتفضل حضرة ولي الأمر فيبين أن عملة التطهير والإعداد أمر لازم للبشرية كي تتخلص ، من ناحية، من دنس الأصنام الجامدة من النظم و العقائد التي تقوم على عبادتها دون وعي أو إدراك. ومن الناحية الأخرى، تنضّج العالم روحيا وفكريا، وتجعله قادرا على القيام بعملية توحيد شعوبه وقبائله، وإحلال الأمن والسلام في العالم،.... فيقول :

Equality between women and Men in Canada since 1929

An important event happened in Canada back in 1938.

This event, known in Canada as „The Persons Case, was precipitated when Emily Murphy was appointed as a judge in Canada in 1916. Her first day on the bench, she was challenged by lawyers who declared she could not rule as judge because women are not persons in Canada. They were correct.

The first battle was that women had to prove that they had souls. Many supported Mrs. Murphy, and of note are four other women activists from Alberta: Nellie McClung, Irene Parlby, Louise McKinney and Henrietta Muir Edwards. The activists petitioned the Supreme Court of Canada, and were shocked when their appeal was denied. They then took their case to the British Privy Council (the highest ruling court at that time for Canada).

On October 18, 1929 they win their case and women become persons in Canada. Since 1992, the month of October has been dedicated to the history of women in Canada. This year marked the 80th Anniversary of this historic „women become persons event, which was a big step for the establishment of equality between women and men in Canada.

Nov 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

" In November every year, we celebrate another important date, as 25 November marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This date is followed by a period of sixteen days of action, ending on 10 December, during which Bahá‟í communities are invited to support the efforts of the many groups and individuals carrying out positive actions for the elimination of the various forms of violence against women and girls. The elimination of violence remains a major concern of the United Nations and of the many national and international organizations working towards the establishment of justice and equity, particularly between women and men."

Baha'is celebrate Birth of Baha'u'llah on 12 November,
Baha'is around the globe will celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Baha'u'llah, the founder of the Baha'i Faith. In 1853, He was exiled from His native land to Baghdad, where in 1863 He announced that He was the bearer of a new revelation from God that would bring unity to the peoples of the world. He was later exiled to Acre, in present-day Israel, where He passed away in 1892.

وُلد حضرة بهاء الله عام 1817م في طهران، عاصمة إيران. ظهرت عليه منذ الصغر علامات العظمة. تلقّى بعض العلوم في المنزل، لكنه لم يحتاج أن يذهب إلى المدرسة، لأنه كان موهوباً من الله بعلم لدنّي. تحدّر بهاء الله من عائلة نبيلة، وعندما كان شاباً عُرض عليه منصب عالي في حكومة الملك لكنه رفضه. كانت أمنيته أن يُكرّس وقته لمساعدة المظلومين والمرضى والفقراء وينصر قضية العدل. إن معاناة حضرة بهاء الله بدأت منذ اللحظة التي قام فيها لنشر أمر الله. حياته كانت عبارة عن نفي وسجن واضطهاد. لقد وُضع في السلاسل والأغلال في حفرة مُظلمة تحت الأرض في طهران نُفي أربع مرّات من أرض إلى أرض...طهران ثم بغداد ثم إسطانبول ثم أدرنه وأُرسل في النهاية إلى مدينة السجن "عكّا" في الإمبراطورية العثمانية. " لقد بُذل كل جهد من قبل حكومتين قويتين – لسلطان ايران والامبراطور العثماني - لمعارضة حضرة بهاء الله وتعاليمه. لكن نور الحق لا يُطفأ بسهولة. نفس الماء الذي يُصبّ فوق النار لإطفاء شعلته يتحول إلى زيت، فتحترق النار بشدة أكثر. لم يستطع شيء ايقاف تأثير حضرة بهاء الله المتزايد. كلما أبعدته السلطات إلى نقطة أبعد، ازداد عدد الذين انجذبوا إلى تعاليمه، وأيقنوا قوّته وعظمته.بالرغم من الاضطهاد المستمر، استمر حضرة بهاء الله بإظهار الكلمة الإلهية لأكثر من أربعين سنة صعد حضرة بهاء الله عام 1892م، ومرقده الذي نعتبره أكثر بقعة مقدسة على الأرض موجود قرب مدينة عكّا.

Muhammad was the first Adam

WINDSOR, United Kingdom —Leaders representing the world's major religions, including the Baha'i Faith, gathered yesterday at historic Windsor Castle to formally launch a series of action plans involving their communities in a long-term effort to protect the environment.

"I have long believed that when governments and civil society work toward a common goal, transformational change is possible," said Mr. Ban. "Faiths and religions are a central part of that equation.

"Indeed, the world's faith communities occupy a unique position in discussions on the fate of our planet and the accelerating impacts of climate change," he said.

The core session of the gathering was yesterday's meeting at Windsor Castle, where representatives of each religious group presented a seven-year plan designed to promote "generational change" in attitudes towards the environment.

In general, the plans sought to offer concrete, practical steps for action.

The Muslim plan, for example, calls for the establishment of an umbrella organization, Muslim Associations for Climate Change Action (MACCA), that will represent Islamic nations and faith communities from around the world. It also calls for an Islamic environmental labeling system, a "Green Hajj" so that within 10 years the traditional Islamic pilgrimage will be recognized as environmentally friendly, and the construction of a model "green mosque" to showcase best practices in heating, light, and design.

Representatives of the Baha'i Faith presented a plan that focuses on using a system of regional training institutes to encourage within the worldwide Baha'i community "acts of service related to environmental sustainability." "Baha'is believe that religious belief and spirituality lie at the foundation of human motivation and behavior," said Tahirih Naylor, a Baha'i International Community representative to the United Nations who was one of two Baha'i delegates to the Windsor event.

THE CROWDED CARRIAGE

When Abdu‟l-Baha lived in Akka people traveled from city to city by horse-drawn carriage. One day Abdu‟l-Baha wanted to go from Akka to Haifa. He went to take a seat in a regular carriage. The carriage was full of poor people and their belongings. When the driver of the carriage saw Abdu‟l-Baha, he was surprised and wondered why Abdu‟l-Baha had chosen to ride in his inexpensive carriage full of people.

„Surely, Your Excellency would prefer to travel in a private carriage!‟ he exclaimed.

„No,‟ replied Abdu‟l-Baha, and He traveled in the crowded carriage all the way to Haifa.

As He stepped down from the carriage in Haifa a distressed fisher woman came to Him and asked for His help. All day she had caught nothing and now had to return to her hungry family.

Abdu‟l-Baha gave her a good sum of money, turned to the driver and said, „Why should I ride in luxury while so many are starving?‟

Stories give life to past experience. Stories make the events in memory memorable to others and to ourselves. This is one of the reasons why people like to tell stories. ~Roger C. Shank

When talking about matters of faith with one another, everyone wants others to respect their views. Practice self-restraint and concern for other people’s freedom and dignity. This means:

• Listening as well as speaking.

• Being honest about beliefs and religious alliances.

ما الخطأ في أن يتبرع كل المصريين سواء كانوا مسلمين أو أقباطا أو يهودا أو حتي لادينيين بأموالهم من أجل بناء المدارس والجامعات والمصانع والمنازل والمساجد والكنائس ومختلف دور العبادة؟ إنهم يموتون جميعا تحت علم واحد‏,‏ وكلهم مصريون‏,‏ فكيف نفرق بينهم علي أساس من اللون أو العقيدة‏,‏ أو أن هذا رجل وتلك امرأة؟‏.‏

كل هذه الأفكار والتصورات البالية والكريهة والمتخلفة يجب أن تنتهي‏..‏ أعرف أنها تحتاج لفترة من الزمن ولكن لابد من الوقوف لها بالمرصاد‏.‏

الإنسان المؤمن

سألنى مرة صديق فنلندى: ما الفرق بين المتدين والمتعصب؟ قلت له: المتدين هو من يحب دينه والمتعصب هو من يكره دين الآخرين! ى النهاية دعونى أقول بأسلوب خطابى مباشر: إن من يطالب الآخرين باحترام مقدساته لابد أن يكون نفسه مثالا لاحترام مقدسات الغير.. انظر حولك عزيزى القارئ المسلم ثم فتش فى ضميرك أولا كيف تنظر لبقرة الهندوسى وتمثال بوذا والأناجيل وكتاب أقدس البهائى! هل فكرت مرة واحدة أن أسلوبك فى الكلام عن مقدساتهم قد يجرح مشاعرهم؟

الشخصية المصرية - شخصية متدينة من القدم

"غير أنها لا يجب أن تجبر على دلك ولايجوز فرضه عليها وإلا عد دلك إنقلابا على شرعيتها وخيانة لربها وغدرا بدينه الدى هو الإسلام

دون غيره فلا واجب عليها أو إلزام بأن تعترف بعقيدة تخالف عقيدتها"

بل واجب عليها أن تعاقب كل من يتلاعب بالدين ويطالب بإتخاد غير الإسلام دينا حتى تحقق قوله تعالى "أن الدين عند الله الإسلام" "

ومن يبتغى غير الإسلام دينا فلن يقبل منه" "لا إكراه في الدين قد تبين الرشد من الغى.".....انتهى.

قُلۡ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡنَا وَمَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٲهِيمَ وَإِسۡمَـٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَـٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ وَٱلۡأَسۡبَاطِ وَمَآ أُوتِىَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَٱلنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡ لَا

نُفَرِّقُ بَيۡنَ أَحَدٍ۬ مِّنۡهُمۡ وَنَحۡنُ لَهُ ۥ مُسۡلِمُونَ

8- أقض بعض الوقت مع أشخاص أعمارهم تجاوزت الـ 70 سبعين عام ,, و آخرين أعمارهم أقل من 6 أعوام

9- أحلم أكثر خــلال يقظتك

10- أكــــثر من تناول الأغذيه الطبيعيه ,, و أقتصد من الأغذية المعلبه

11- أشرب كميات كبيرهـ من الماء

12- حاول أن تجعل 3 أشخاص يبتسمون يوميا

13- لاتضيع وقتك الثمين في الثرثره

14- أنسى المواضيع ,, ولا تذكر شريكة\شريك حياتك بأخطاء قد مضت لأنها سوف تسئ للحظات الحاليه

15- لاتجعل الأفكار السلبيه تسيـــطر عليك .. و وفر طاقتك للأمور الإيجابيه

16- أعلم بإن الحياة مدرســـه .. و أنت طالب فيــها .. والمشاكل عبارة عن مسائل رياضية يمكن حــلـــها

17- كل إفطارك كــالـملـك .. و غدائــك كـالأميـــــر .. و عشـــائك كـالفقيــــــر ..

18- أبتسم .. و أضحك أكــــثــــر

19- الحياة قصيرة جــــدا ... فـــلا تقضـــها في كـــــرهـ الأخــــريـــن

20- لا تأخذ (( جـمـيـع )) الأمور بجــديــه .. { كــن سـلـسـا و عـقـلانـيـا }

21- ليــس من الضروري الفوز بجميع المناقسات والمجادلات .. (( حاول أن توافق على الخطــأ ))

22- أنسى الماضي بسلبياته ,, حتى لا يفسد مـــســـتــقــبــلك

23- لاتقارن حيــاتك بغـــيرك .. ولا شريكة\شريك حياتك بالأخريــــن ..

24- الوحيـــــد المســـؤول عن سعـــادتك (( هو أنــــــت !! ))

25- سامح الجميع بدون استثناء

26- ما يعتقدهـ الأخرين عنـــك .. لا عــــلاقة لك بـــه

27- أحــســن الــظــن بالله .

28- مهما كانت الاحوال .... (( جيــدهـ أو سـيـئـه )) ثق بأنها ستتغـــــير

29- عملك لن يعتني بك في وقت مرضك .. بل أصدقائــك .. لذلك أعتـــنــي بــهــم

30- تخلص من جميع الأشياء التي ليس لها متعة أو منفعة أو جمـــال

31- الحســد هو مضيعة للوقت (( أنت تملك جميــــع احتياجاتك ))

32- الأفـــضــــل قادم لا محالــــه

33- مهما كان شعورك .. فلا تضعف .. بل أستيقظ .. و أنطلق ..

34- أعمل الشي الــصح دائماٌ

35- أتصل بوالديك .. وعائلتك دائـــماُ

36- كن متفائــــلاٌ .. وســـعـــيدا ..

37- أعطي كل يوم .. شيئا مميزاٌ وجيـــداٌ للأخريــــن ...
