"..although the mother is the first educator of the child, and the most important formative influence in his development, the father also has the responsibility of educating his children, and this responsibility is so weighty that Baha'u'llah has stated that a father who fails to exercises it forfeits his rights of fatherhood."
Due to the laws of nature, the mother is the first educator of the children who educate their children in the early years of their lives and generally provide a loving atmosphere at home. The father generally has the financial responsibilities for his family, however, this role could be reversed. Both share the responsibility of educating the children from an early age to have a goodly character and good morals. The Baha'i family as a human unit is based on sharing family power and decisions. Parents should consult together and come to an agreement on the training of their children. It is important that the children receive the love and attention they need, from both parents, to grow physically, intellectually and spiritually.

How I wish my mother and her mother and her mother before her had known about these Teachings. May God forgive them and have mercy on them, and me, for our ignorance. The pain and conflict that has been passed on for generations is now imprinted in our genes, to be passed on to innocent unborn children for generations to come.
I beg you to share these Teachings with more people, especially young girls who have not yet chosen their life partners. They need to know how to choose one who will support them spiritually, mentally and emotionally as well as physically and financially.
We could turn the whole human race around in one generation, just by teaching young girls to make better choices.
Thank you dear friend, We totally agree with you that participation of women in all aspects of life is very crucial for the progress of society. In the Baha'i Writings; The cause of inequality between women and men in this world is due to lack of equal educational opportunity for girls.
